About Aaron Gordon - B.A. / B.Ed. / (M.B.A.) |
Raised in Ontario and currently residing there, he
received his Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Western
University in Vancouver, BC and went on to pursue a
Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in
Edmonton, AB. In addition, he is currently
attaining a Master of Business Administration from
Lansbridge University in Fredericton, NB and aims to be
completed in 2008.
Aaron's first interests in practical leadership
approaches and strategic team building was inspired by an opportunity he pursued at the youthful age of 19.
Aaron was offered the position of area director for a
non-profit youth organization known as Young Life Canada
in southern Vancouver. A few years prior, this
organization's presence had plummeted in the area.
Aaron strategically gathered a leadership team and
taught strategic leadership and team building workshops
with his staff that reflected the needs of the
community. It was Aaron's sense of humor, energy
level and openness to the needs of his team members that
lead to the successful reestablishment of the
organization in that region.
Aaron went on to accept the youth director position
at a local church, in which he once again transferred
the skills and experiences gained in his previous
leadership to create a solid team of skilled volunteers
that sought the needs of the community's youth.
Aaron's warm personality and communication skills,
combined with his team building efforts and leadership
abilities allowed him to meet and exceed the goals and objectives required of him.
His passion for authentic leadership was reinforced
when he entered the teaching field. His leadership
and team building background expanded with new experiences in
areas such as sports coaching, school technology
leader, educational teaching teams, school union
representative and a team leader for a Provincial
Digital Math Curriculum Project. In addition, he
received various evaluations that reflected excellence
in teaching and also received a teaching award and a
grant for a technology leadership initiative he
embarked upon. Furthermore, it was during this
time that Aaron developed Visionary Leadership
Consulting Group.
In this earlier period, Aaron posted online leadership
and team building articles that created a discussion
forum for those readers who were pursuing such
approaches. In time, it would lead to his
consulting practice.
Aaron was drawn to The Birkman Method®, due to it's
longevity of results and strategic solutions for
organizational leadership and team building. Aaron
received his Birkman Certification in Houston, TX, which
has lead to continued success and impact of Visionary
Leadership Consulting Group.
As a result, Aaron has been commended in articles,
radio and in newspaper print. He continues to
write and has offered executive
coaching with leaders and teams in Canada, United
States and Europe.
